Greenbuild 2023: Building Transformation
Greenbuild’s 2023 theme highlighted the decades-long legacy and unwavering commitment of the green building movement to transforming the built environment to serve, prepare and protect our communities in a rapidly changing world.
This year, we worked to create a more sustainable and resilient future, commemorated the USGBC's 30th anniversary and mark the debut of LEED v5, the latest iteration of the LEED green building program that advances decarbonization, equity, health, biodiversity, and resilience in the built environment.
New Greenbuild Whitepaper
Over a quarter of global investors say that ESG is central to their investment thesis: ESG-focused institutional investment is expected to reach $33.9 trillion by 2026.
Building operations, due to their resource intensity and connection to human health, have long represented an avenue for realizing all three of the components of ESG.
In our whitepaper, O&M Meets ESG: Optimizing Your Buildings for Impact, we address how building operations and maintenance supports ESG initiatives, strategies for engaging key stakeholders for success, incentives, funding options, and more.

Greenbuild is excited to present our upcoming webinar taking place on December 5th from 9:00am-10:00am ET titled Achieving Energy Efficiency at Scale in Your Building Portfolio sponsored by Honeywell.
Organizations face increasing pressure today, from stakeholders, employees, as well as regulatory agencies, to curb energy consumption, reduce carbon emissions and create more sustainable and healthier facilities. Setting goals is one thing; making real change happen is another.
Discover how you can implement gradual energy improvements in your facilities without sacrificing the occupant experience or the bottom line. This webinar will provide building owners and operators with an understanding on how to scale energy efficiency improvements throughout a building portfolio with little-to-no upfront capital investments.

Inside the Greenbuild 2023 Legacy Project
The Greenbuild Legacy Project is an initiative that leaves a lasting impact on the host city of each Greenbuild International Conference and Expo. This year’s project selected by our local host committee was the Gensler’s “Roots to Success” initiative at Kelly Miller Middle School.
Located in the heart of Ward 7 of Washington, D.C., Kelly Miller Middle School is an institution with a rich cultural history and legacy. The school serves a diverse population of students, many of whom come from families with limited resources. The school is also situated in a food desert, where access to fresh, healthy food is limited.
The project aims to address these issues by making impactful improvements to two of the school’s existing spaces.
