I believe myself to be a very operational, business outcomes focused, L&D professional. I spent the first 15 years of my career in retail management with the Safeway supermarket group. During my time as a Store Manager with them, I found my passion for developing people.

I was very lucky to be able to transfer from retail management to HR with Safeway, firstly taking a role as Management Development Manager before moving into an Organisation Development role.

In 2004 I took the bold step to join Alshaya Group, based in Kuwait, as Group People Development Manager. Apart from a short stint in Banking, interesting but too slow paced, I have remained working for Alshaya and have been lucky to experience a wide range of experiences during my time with them. I currently look after the Learning and Development and Talent functions for Alshaya, who have around 50,000 employees across 17 different countries.
