Unleashing the Wealth of Nations project and the Resident Entrepreneur at MIT Media Lab

Profile

Julius is the Founder and CEO of UWINCorp Inc. - the Mobile Commodity Marketplace that aims to create the Next Generation Capital Market Infrastructure for rural producers. It is based on assets digitization and valuation on the blockchain platform.  He is also the Entrepreneur-In-Residence at the MIT, Media Lab (The MIT’s Media Lab focuses on the study, invention, and creative use of digital technologies to enhance the ways that people think, express, and communicate ideas, and explore new scientific frontiers ).  He is also a Fellow at the MIT’s Connection Science Lab; he is a technology innovator and an experienced senior executive. Before his affiliation with the MIT Media Lab, Julius was the Global Director of Emerging Technologies for PepsiCo Inc., and prior to joining PepsiCo, he was the Senior Vice President for Emerging Technologies and the Wireless Business Technologies at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco. He is currently a member of the appointed consultants by the World Intellectual Properties Organization (WIPO), an agency of the United Nations in Geneva as Intellectual Properties practitioner for leveraging IPs for Innovation. Julius was one of the 12 member global jurors for OECD’s prize for taking Innovation to scale. He is a current member of the Advisory Board of Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s MIT-Africa Committee and its MIT-Africa Executive Working Group. He was a member of the United Nation’s ICT Working Group to eradicate poverty.  Julius was a 2012 Donald Gordon Innovation Fellow at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. He is a Co-Founder of Cape Town’s “Workshop 17” Innovation Hub. He was the 2016 honoree of the “Spirit of Africa Award” by the Self Help Africa Organization. Julius obtained his MBA from Ohio University; he holds a couple of intellectual property patents and he is a global speaker on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and global Economic Development.

Most recently, Julius lectures and assists the pedagogy Coordination of the “MS - Manager de l’Innovation et Technologique” (Service Mastère Spécialisé®) at Toulouse Business School, Toulouse, France.
