Nina Schick
Generative AI Expert,  Geopolitical Advisor, Author at The Era of Generative AI

Profile

Nina Schick is one of the first experts in the nascent field of Generative AI. She analyses how this field of generative artificial intelligence will change humanity throwing up questions of digital trust, transparency and authenticity. Her background as an advisor on the role of state-sponsored disinformation on geopolitical crises, including Brexit, the Russia-Ukraine war led her directly into the rapidly evolving impact of generative AI – noting the unpreparedness of government, tech giants, business and society. Consequently she has advised leaders including Joe Biden, the President of the United States and Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the former Secretary General of NATO.

From ChatGPT to DALLE, Stable Diffusion and Codex, the Generative AI revolution is already underway. Nina analyses how companies like Open AI and Stability AI are heralding a new era in human-machine collaboration. She predicts that AI will generate up to 90% of content by 2025, and that hundreds of millions of people will be interacting with Generative AI by the end of this year.

Nina is the creator of ‘The Era of Generative AI’ – a Substack project telling the story of GenAI through exclusive content and interviews. She advises several AI and technology companies, including Truepic — the first to build media authentication technology; and Synthesia, the world’s first AI-to-video generation platform.

Nina’s debut book – ‘DEEPFAKES’ was the first book on AI-generated content. Released in 2020 and has been translated into five languages. Wired, Time, MIT Tech Review and The Times have published Nina. She is also a seasoned media commentator – appearing regularly on BBC, Sky, Bloomberg and CNBC.

She earned a Masters in Philosophy, History and Politics from Cambridge University and a BA in History and European Languages from UCL.

Nina speaks seven languages and calls London, Berlin and Kathmandu home.
