Global Head of Asset Management at Haitong Asset Management

Shengzu Wang, PhD, CFA, is the Managing Director, Global Head of Asset Management of Haitong International Securities Group Limited (“HTISG”), and serves as a responsible officer of Haitong International Asset Management (HK) Limited and Haitong International Investment Managers Limited.

Dr. Wang has more than ten years of experience in the financial industry and public services. Before joining HTISG, he served as the Co-head of Investment Strategy Group Asia at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for China and EM Asia macro strategies and tactical asset allocation. Prior to that, he was a Senior Economist at Barclays covering mainland China and Hong Kong. Dr. Wang started his economist career at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he worked on a number of IMF surveillance and lending programs covering advanced and EM economies in Asia Pacific, Africa, and Europe. Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. in Economics from McGill University, and an M.A. in Economics from the University of British Columbia. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen).
