Mr. Kirit S. Javali, graduated with a B.A from Delhi University and read law at the University of Leeds, U.K., was thereafter called to the Bar from Gray’s Inn in 1996. He underwent a stint of six months’ pupillage with Gray’s Inn Chambers under Dr. Phillip Baker, QC (now at Field Tax Chambers) He also trained with TLT Solicitors in London, U.K. and Mumbai firms Crawford Bayley, Mumbai.
He is the Founding Partner of his firm Jafa & Javali established in 2003. In acknowledgment of Jafa &Javali’s very strong client service commitment, Jafa & Javali is rated by the Asia Pacific Legal 500 (www.legal500.com) as a recognised and competent law firm for Corporate/M&A, Banking, Finance and Capital Markets, Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, Projects and Energy and Real Estate.
Being the Dispute Resolution unit head, Mr. Kirit S. Javali has also acted for Indian companies in domestic arbitration proceedings, and including ICC international arbitration proceedings conducted in London, U.K. He regularly appears and argues matters in the Supreme Court of India, including at various High Courts in the country. His other practice areas include company, commercial laws, foreign investment, banking, intellectual property rights, information technology and life sciences.
He has also spoken at various international forums as a speaker in the filed of arbitration and intellectual property rights in India, Dubai and London respectively. He and his firm has held Conferences on International Commercial and Investment Treaty Arbitration at New Delhi in the past which was attended by leading experts from around the world. He also has authored articles in Indian and Overseas publications including more recently on "Enforcement of Foreign Judgments" published by the GLG group, London.
He is also a member of the Hon'ble Society of Gray’s Inn, General Council of the Bar of England & Wales, Bar Council of Delhi, India International Law Foundation, Member, Law & Justice Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce, New Delhi; Supreme Court Bar Association and the Delhi High Court Bar Association.
