Nick is a Partner in the International Arbitration practice of Herbert Smith Freehills based in London. He has been with the firm since 1997 and has been a Partner since 2007.
Nick is head of the India Disputes practice of Herbert Smith Freehills, a member of the firm's India Executive, and a Council Member for the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA). Nick previously led the Singapore arbitration practice between 2009-2012, and currently serves on the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) Users Council. Nick has sat as arbitrator on India-related disputes in London and Singapore under various institutional rules and ad hoc.
Nick is an English-law qualified solicitor advocate specialising in international arbitration. He has appeared before arbitral tribunals in Europe and Asia, as well as in the London High Court. Nick has acted on commercial disputes across a range of industry sectors, including energy, power, financial services, leisure, telecoms, media, technology, maritime services, manufacturing and consumer goods. Nick has also acted for and against State governments on commercial and investment arbitration and related court litigation.
