NPS Chawla is an Associate Partner with the Corporate Team of Vaish Associates Advocates, Delhi, a well renowned full-service law firm. He has been associated with the Firm since July, 2008 and has an overall experience of around 12 years. Apart from holding a law degree, he is also a Central Council Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (“ICSI”) and holds masters’ degree in law and master degree in management as well.
He specializes in handling restructuring matters including mergers, demergers, compromise, arrangements etc. on turn-key basis i.e. from conceptualization of the structure to implementation by appearance before the court. Apart from restructuring, he has expanded his forte by handling corporate litigation matters before various courts, NCLTs and NCLAT. Detailed knowledge and experience of Corporate Laws gives him a cutting edge in strategizing the matters.
He has appeared and argued before Supreme Court, High Courts (Delhi, Rajasthan, Bombay, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana, Tamil Nadu), Company Law Board, Securities and Exchange Board of India, Debts Recovery Tribunal, Board of Industrial and Financial Reconstruction, Enforcement Directorate, Securities Appellate Tribunal, Appellate Authority for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction, District and State Consumer Forum, Civil Courts, Regional Directors under Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Arbitration Tribunals, Sessions and Magistrate Courts across NCR in a variety of matters including company law, securities law, contractual and commercial disputes, insolvency and rehabilitation laws, arbitration proceedings, consumer disputes, criminal proceedings, banking disputes and real estate disputes.
Apart from this, Mr. Chawla is also a registered insolvency professional and had already been appointed as Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) for Insolvency Proceedings of few corporates. He is also one of the designated partners of the Vaish Insolvency Professionals Entity (IPE). He has been representing many foreign institutional creditors in the insolvency proceedings and also appeared on behalf of creditors and debtor before NCLT and NCLAT.
