Mr. Ravindra Shrivastava, presently Senior Advocate, and former (first and youngest) Advocate General of the State of Chhattisgarh.

He is regularly engaged by the State Government of Chhattisgarh, State Government of Madhya Pradesh, State Government of Uttar Pradesh as Senior Counsel to argue important cases in the Supreme Court. He was especially engaged by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development to argue important cases in the High Court of Allahabad and Andhra Pradesh.

He has represented various big corporate clients in the private sector as a senior counsel in high stake commercial litigation. For the last 20 years or more advising and representing Dow Chemicals, the USA in environmental matters in the High Court and Supreme Court as well as liability litigation arising out of Bhopal Gas litigation. Recently appeared for another multinational Cott Beverages Inc, USA Company. Appeared for Daewoo Power India Ltd., an Indian subsidiary of Daewoo Group of Company, Korea, etc. Argued an important litigation of Essar concerning pool pricing of Gas.

Engaged as Counsel for Corporations such as Reliance Communications in Arbitrations, Reliance Power in the Supreme Court of India, TATA Steel, and Power, Essar Steel and Power, Dow Chemicals (Company registered in Missouri, United States), LANCO Power, Dhariwal Industries, Jaypee Cement, JK Cement, Supertech Builders, ACC Cement, Monnet Ispat Ltd., Birla Corporation Ltd., Birla Group of Companies in M.P., Modi Cement Ltd., L&T Cement Ltd., L&T, Lafarge, Raymonds Cement, Grasim Cement Ltd., Gujarat Ambuja Cement Ltd., Tata Iron and Steel Co. He has been engaged as Senior Counsel by various public sector enterprises in a number of cases for National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Bharat Aluminum Company Ltd. (BALCO), Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Oil and Natural Gas Commission, Jabalpur Development Authority (JDA), Raipur Development Authority, Madhya Pradesh Housing Board, Hindustan Copper Ltd., Cement Corporation of India, M.P. Oil Federation, Nepa Mills Ltd., Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board, Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation, Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board, Chhattisgarh State Infrastructure Development Corporation. He has conducted arbitration as special counsel engaged by the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board appeared before M.P. Arbitration Tribunal in important cases.

Quite recently, he also appeared as Lead Senior Counsel before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and secured significant reliefs in the famous matters of first, Loan Moratorium issue, whereby compound interest was being arbitrarily charged by banks on those who had availed moratorium on loans during the Covid-19 pandemic; second, also appeared for an Investor of Franklin Templeton Mutual Funds whereby six schemes of the said Mutual Fund House were arbitrarily wound up and; third, secured significant relief for the homebuyers of Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL) on the issue of disbursement of Rs. 750 Crores amount as had been deposited by JAL before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
