Shwetabh is a Partner in the litigation and disputes team of Clasis Law, Delhi and is a dual qualified lawyer, registered as an advocate in India and as a solicitor (NP) with the Solicitors Regulation Authority, England & Wales. Shwetabh also holds a Master’s Degree in International Commercial and Maritime Law from University of Wales, UK.

Shwetabh has advised and represented Indian and overseas clients in a wide variety of contentious matters across various sectors. He specializes in shipping (wet and dry), Insurance and reinsurance, insolvency and bankruptcy, white collar crimes.

Shwetabh has handled high-value and complex matters relating to various jurisdictions including Australia, United Kingdom, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, Greece, United States of America, United Arab Emirates, France. He has also successfully defended a reputed Indian company in an International Maritime Arbitration (seat of Arbitration in Geneva) and has been advising P&I Clubs on issues related to cargo claims, Chaterparty disputes, bills of lading, arrest and release of Vessel.

Shwetabh has also been actively representing Indian and overseas clients before the Indian courts and Tribunals and is actively involved in domestic and international arbitrations. He has also represented various overseas clients in the litigation proceedings involving enforcement and execution of foreign judgments and awards.

Shwetabh was seconded to a UK law firm (in the London office) in March 2016. He assisted the team in an admiralty matter and attended the proceedings before the Queen’s Bench Division of the Royal Courts of Justice.
