Sean Kruzelis founder of Portformer by Astrocyte Research. He is a quantitative global macro portfolio manager. Kruzel founded the company to build technology that helps investors quickly understand today's ever-changing markets. Since the financial crisis, he developed novel forecasting methods to predict economic data, track central bank views and structure options portfolios while at J.P. Morgan Asset Management and two global macro hedge funds. As the number and complexity of ETFs grew, Kruzel applied his technology to better sort through these investment options. This enabled financial advisors to see through the marking noise to determine if a fund is “earning its fees,” giving them more confidence in their strategies and focus to grow their business. Astrocyte released this product in April 2019 and called it Portformer. Kruzel is an MIT alumnus with mathematics and economics degrees.
