Paul EnglandSenior Professional Support Lawyer at Taylor Wessing
Dr Paul England is the senior professional support lawyer in the Taylor Wessing Patents Group. With 18 years of experience, Paul advises the Patents Group and clients on English patent litigation and pan-European patent dispute management and strategy. He has a particular interest in the life sciences sector and associated exclusivity rights, having begun his career as a scientist and taken a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Oxford.
Paul publishes regularly on patent law and exclusivity right developments, with over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is also a regular speaker at conferences on UK patent law, European patent strategy and the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Paul is currently preparing the User's Guide to Intellectual Property in the Life Sciences (Bloomsbury Professional) and is the lead author of A Practitioner's Guide to European Patent Law to be published in October 2019 (Hart / Bloomsbury). Paul is a contributor on the UK and UPC chapters in Global Patent Litigation: How and Where to Win (Bloomberg), and the Consulting Editor of Intellectual Property in the Life Sciences (Second edition) and Patent Transactions in the Life Sciences (both Globe Law and Business).
Paul is Secretary of The Academy of Experts and Chairs the Lawyers' Network of Linacre College, Oxford.
