Giles heads up Wood Mackenzie’s LNG and gas asset research and manages the companies market leading LNG Service & Tool and LNG Corporate Products. He has over fifteen years of experience in the energy industry, with the last ten focussed on LNG.
Giles works with Wood Mackenzie’s upstream and gas markets groups across the world to formulate the company’s views on the LNG market. He has a deep understanding of all commercial aspects of the industry including supply, asset valuation, demand, contracts and infrastructure.
As part of his role, Giles provides expert insight, advice and data on the LNG market to Wood Mackenzie’s clients around the world in the upstream, utilities, financial and shipping industries. He also supports Wood Mackenzie’s Global Gas Service, Tool and Modelling products which provide forecasts and scenarios on gas and LNG pricing and flows.
Key recent work undertaken by Giles has been on LNG contract pricing trends, FLNG commercial structures, LNG capex escalation and LNG corporate strategies. Giles also recently launched and hosts Wood Mackenzie’s free LNG Big Chill podcast.
Prior to joining the LNG team in 2008, Giles worked in Wood Mackenzie’s upstream group covering the Middle East and South Asia. He previously worked for Evaluate Energy in London. Giles holds a bachelors degree in History & Politics, including a final year paper on African Petroleum Economies, from the University of Exeter.
