Vijay is currently the Global Head of Marketing Sciences at WhatsApp, a Facebook company. He has 18+ years of experience across Google, Amazon, Merkle etc. Vijay started his career in marketing in 2002 at AutoZone, in their media-mix, marketing strategy team. He then moved to the Agency side, working at Merkle and growing to lead their #1 top-revenue account for analytics delivery, and was part of Merkle’s foray into digital CRM.
Vijay’s entry into tech industry was at Amazon, leading their marketing analytics practice at Amazon's WW traffic team, responsible for traffic growth in US, UK, Germany, China and Japan ($millions ad-budget, positive ROI). He then joined, Google’s B2B marketing team to launch Hyper-Targeted, scaled programs to improve Advertiser growth, ROI and retention across 40 countries. Vijay then spent six years in India, launched India's first e-commerce loyalty program at FlipKart, led product analytics, growth analytics, customer support analytics, event analytics, and Marketing analytics teams.
Vijay was awarded top 50 influential Customer Loyalty and Service individuals across India, APAC by CMO Asia in 2019. Vijay is an avid listener of podcasts – Freakonomics, Hidden Brain, Ted Radio and ButWhy? (a kids podcast).
