Faisal Ishtiaq is a Senior Director of Media Analytics and AI Platforms at Comcast. He leads R&D teams focused on developing large scale AI Platforms, Product Analytics Engineering, and Media Analytics. His teams develop novel media experiences and technologies widely used across Xfinity, Sky, NBCU, and Peacock. One of these products, VideoAI, was awarded NAB 2022 Product of the Year. His research interest include scene understanding, topic and sentiment analysis, emotion detection, content segmentation, and AI platform architectures. Prior to Comcast, he led media research at Watchwith that was acquired by Comcast in 2016. Faisal holds over 40 patents and has published multiple scientific conference and journal papers. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.
