Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs – Medical Devices at SCC Scientific Consulting Company GmbH

Dr Alexander Theis studied chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, and obtained his doctoral degree in macromolecular chemistry. After two years of research in the field of chemical engineering in Sydney, he worked as an application scientist at a European subsidiary of a US company distributing analytical instruments to the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Later, he changed to the medical device industry and worked for 10 years in R&D and international approval of medical devices. During this time, he was also part of the expert team responsible for the DIN standardisation of dental materials. In 2019, Alexander joined SCC as Senior Manager and a Head of the medical device regulatory group. Apart from supporting customers with the MDR implementation, he also provides expert services for risk management, biological evaluation, clinical evaluation, qualification and validation.
