Profile
George has been in the medical device industry in a variety of roles for over 35 years including Sales, Marketing, Business Development, General Management, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory and Government Affairs. He has worked for Stryker in Australia, USA and across Asia.
George has been a member of the MTAA Public Affairs Committee, member of the APACMed Regulatory Affairs Committee, serves on the Steering Committee of the Association of Regulatory and Clinical Scientists, was Chair of the Advamed China Regulatory Committee for many years, and a member of the International Society of Arthroplasty Registries’ Global Benchmarking Working Group. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the MTAA Regulatory Affairs Committee.
He has published work on biomaterials and joint implants, lectured in Biomedical Engineering, and has completed a Master of Clinical Research from Liverpool University in the UK. In 2019 George received the MTAA’s Outstanding Achievement Award for exceptional contribution to the Medical Technology Industry.
George retired at the end of 2020 as Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs for Stryker South Pacific and is now working on projects in an advisory capacity to government and industry in the medical device healthcare arena.
