Omer Zabit is a Principal with Shorooq Partners, leading their investment efforts across frontier markets like Pakistan, Bangladesh & Turkey. Omer joined Shorooq from Careem, the super-app of the MENAP region, where he worked as the global head of food delivery business. Omer's expertise in strategy, operations, and market development mainly comes from his five years at the company where he directly contributed to Careem's growth across various markets & business-lines. Prior to joining Careem, he spent more than 4 years in product & strategy roles in the leading mobile money players, Jazzcash and Easypaisa, in Pakistan. He earned his MBA from the prestigious Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan and his Bachelor of Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan. In his free time he likes to play racquet sports and unwind with his loved ones.
