Joy Charbonneau has nearly 20 years of experience designing award-winning higher education architecture and corporate workplace interiors, Joy has built a reputation for dynamic, modern architecture and interiors that respond elegantly to their surroundings and delight inhabitants. Her clients, among them the world’s leading developers shaping cities globally, look to Joy for a rare combination of exceptional architectural design talent coupled with a refined technical ability to gracefully solve challenges that inevitably arise over the project life cycle. Considered a vital contributor and promotor of Canadian art & design, Joy co-founded the Toronto Design Offsite Festival – Ontario’s largest cultural celebration of design - and Building Equality in Architecture Toronto – a mentorship and networking-based professional group. In addition to her career as an architect, Joy works independently and collaboratively as an artist, designer, and curator. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows at various Toronto galleries, the Toronto Art Fair, The Art Gallery of Hamilton, Brooklyn, and in Milan.
