Markus Schmid

Born in 1970, German nationality, married with two children.

Markus studied chemistry and obtained his PhD from University of Tubingen, Germany, in organometallic catalysis and polymer chemistry in 1999.

He joined BASF in 2000 as a laboratory leader in polymer research. He furthermore held positions in product development of paper chemicals and corporate strategy. Markus joined the Agricultural Solutions Division of BASF in 2009 as staff to the president, where he was tasked with a growth strategy and subsequently was building a new R&D group. Since 2019 he is heading the N-management business within the Agricultural Solution Division of BASF.
