Morten Andre has mainly worked with manufacturing and fabrication of metals for process and structural components for Oil and Gas industries since he started in the welding and quality control department with the offshore yard Kværner Rosenberg Verft in 1989. He worked as quality control manager, overseeing NDT, welding, surface treatment control, and dimensional surveillance before leaving the U.S.A. for a Ph.D.-program. Returning at rock bottom in 1999 we left for a position as technical director with a steel foundry. In 2014 and joined the structural integrity department in Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) as a principal engineer, where he has been working with material selection, ageing of structures and challenges associated with flexible pipelines. In PSA he is a representative in the Norwegian standards organization expert group for materials and work in close cooperation with fellow colleagues on subsea standards.
