Profile
Tendai is a Partner in Investment Management and Private Equity Assurance Practice. He is the UK lead for Investment Management and Private Equity assurance services. He leads a team that supports investment managers, private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, endowment funds and family offices on their governance, regulatory and risk & controls requirements.
Tendai started his career with Deloitte in Zimbabwe over 20 years ago and worked with Deloitte in the US before joining the UK firm in 2005. During his time in the UK, he has worked with some of the world’s largest investment management and private equity firms. He also spent close to a decade with investment management and private equity firms, building and implementing governance, third-party oversight, and risk & control frameworks. As a result of this, Tendai has worked on operational resilience and related topics “on the ground” and he now applies his practical experience in delivering governance, regulatory and risk & controls assurance services to clients in the same industry sectors. He has recently delivered operational resilience projects focusing on assurance, reviewing implementation of the regulation by investment management firms and recommending the required remediation where gaps are identified.
Tendai sits on the board of The Together Initiative, a coalition of some of the UK’s best known organisations, whose mission is to build kinder, closer and more connected communities across the UK. He also supports a number of voluntary causes, with current and past involvement with Compassion UK, KickStart Money, The Centre for Financial Capability and Love Your Neighbour initiative.
Tendai regularly speaks at investment management/financial services industry events. Tendai is a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
