With over 25 years’ experience, Paul has market leading experience and expertise in the payments industry where he has guided clients through new product development, regulatory change and transformational projects, such as the creation of VocaLink, the Payments Council, Faster Payments and Paym, as well as the UK's first NFC enabled stored value mobile payment solution and a pan-European contactless mobile payment solution. Paul is well versed in the complexities of the payments industry's network arrangements. He also has a deep knowledge of legal and regulatory developments affecting the payments industry, including SEPA, PSD, 2EMD. On PSD specifically, he has been involved since its inception in 2003.
Kate is a Partner in Osborne Clarke's Financial Institutions Group and specialises in payment services and consumer credit. She advises on the regulatory environment affecting payments and consumer credit,as well as structuring and contractually documenting significant and transformational regulatory projects. Kate has experience of working with clients at all levels of the payments industry:payment service providers,technology providers,mobile networks operators, physical and virtual retailers, schemes, industry bodies. She has particular expertise in “new generation” payment services,such as mobile payments (includingNFC), online payments, prepaid and virtual currencies, but also regularly advises on more traditional payments infrastructure and technology,merchant acquisition and aggregation,and money remittance.

PSD 2 Workshop
This workshop will aim to lead participants through this regulatory maze and tsunami with a view to helping them understand how it will affect their own institutions and those they serve. The work shop will provide:
- An overview of all the different pieces of legislation and regulation touching payments
- An indication of how these parts are moving, the timelines, overlaps, and steps to implementation
- The changes being made by PSD2
- A focussed session on PSD2’s new TPP (third party provider) regime – account information and payment initiation services
- A second focussed session on PSD2’s security framework and the related EBA Guidelines
- In interactive format, a discussion around the impact of these changes on banks, other PSPs and third parties
- Steps to implement change, through systems, processes or documentation.
This workshop will help you develop a strategic approach to compliance with all this new regulation.
