PayTech Project Awards

For banks, financial and payment institutions, winning a PayTech Award proves the value of their technology investments and showcases their skills, commitment, creativity and execution.

This award is for projects at financial/payment institutions and banks, not for vendor products. If you are a vendor who wants to apply in this category, you can do so on behalf of a named financial/payment institution/bank that has implemented your product/service. The entry should focus on the project and its results achieved with the aid of your technology/service. So it is use case driven.

If you apply purely with your product/service in this category, your entry will not be shortlisted.

If you want to nominate your product/service for an award (rather than a specific use case/project), please go to the Excellence in Tech Section, where you’ll find a selection of categories specifically for vendors.

Best PayTech Overhaul – Back Office

Awarded to a bank/financial institution that has undertaken a major technology overhaul across its back-office payment platforms. The project must be large-scale and entail significant changes not just in the system itself, but also in processes, knowledge, organisation, integration, and other relevant aspects.

This is an award for changing the payments engine of a bank/financial institution – a far-reaching, complex initiative. This is not an award for a routine upgrade, a greenfield operation, or a small tech replacement for a niche operation.

The judges are looking for a detailed account of the initiative – from the reasons behind it, to the project milestones, the participants, the goals and challenges, and the results.

The project must deliver tangible benefits to the organisation, bring clear improvements, and achieve the goals it set out to achieve. The judges are looking for stats and facts that support this.
