Carsten Zatschler is the Director of its Legal and Executive Affairs Directorate of the EFTA Surveillance Authority.
Carsten Zatschler studied law in Cambridge, Paris and Berlin and was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 1999, specialising in EU law both in an advisory capacity and in litigation in front of national and EU courts. Between 2004 and 2013, he served in the cabinets of three successive British Judges at the Court of Justice of the European Union, first as Legal Secretary and later as Head of Cabinet.
Carsten Zatschler is a German national, born and raised in Brussels, and speaks fluent English, German and French. He will take up his position at the Authority on 1 September 2015.
