Rachael Riggs, cmp, des, sepcGeneral Manager - Environmental Strategy at Maritz Global Events
For more than 25 years, Rachael Riggs has been dedicated to creating holistic event experiences that motivate people to be the best versions of themselves. As the Wellbeing Leader of Maritz Global Events, Riggs focuses on improving the guest experience by keeping the guest’s wellbeing at the heart of the design. As a member of the Design Studio team, Riggs works with clients to design experiences that care for the whole person so they can perform at their peak based on the framework she brought to the company called the 5 Dimensions of Wellbeing. She has development many innovative products that support the Dimensions and the event experience. Additionally, Riggs helps leads the internal team that focuses on the sustainability of Maritz Global Events.
Riggs is passionate about giving back to the event industry. Currently, Riggs serves on the Events Industry Council APEX COVID-19 Business Recovery Taskforce, as the President of the North American Chapter for EventWell, and former President of PCMA’s Greater Midwest Chapter. The recipient of numerous awards, including the 2022 Smart Women in Meetings (Visionary) by Smart Meetings Magazine, 2020 Chairman’s Award for both Events Industry Council (EIC) and Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). In 2016, Riggs won the prestigious PCMA International Supplier of the Year. Riggs is well versed as both a supplier and a planner in the events industry. She is a certified meeting professional (cmp), a digital event strategist (des) and has sustainable event professional certificate (sepc).
