Cari Gallman is Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer for Bristol Myers Squibb, responsible for reinforcing the company’s strong culture of ethics and integrity and leading the team that ensures BMS operations are conducted in compliance with ethical business practices, the Company Principles of Integrity, and laws and regulations in the global markets in which BMS operates. Cari is a member of the BMS Leadership Team.

Prior to assuming her current role in 2021, she served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, WW Oncology Legal, leading the team of lawyers who supported Bristol Myers Squibb Oncology Franchise globally and in the United States market. In that capacity, Cari and her team provided advice regarding the strategy and execution of research and development, commercial and medical tactics, and serve as strategic partners directly delivering practical, effective, and innovative legal solutions to support business needs while mitigating and defending against legal risks to enable the development and delivery innovative medicines to patients. In this role, she and her team supported the development and launch of over 25 products and indications worldwide in less than three years. Cari joined BMS in early 2015. Before joining BMS, Cari was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP in New York City, representing pharmaceutical and health care clients in white collar and regulatory matters in a variety of areas, including potential off-label marketing of products, violations of the Anti-Kickback or Anti-Bribery Statutes, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and good manufacturing issues.

Cari is a recognized industry leader, who is often invited to speak at conferences such as the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, American Conference Institute, Women Influence Power & the Law, and DRI. She has received a number of awards and accolades recognizing her leadership professionally and in her community and serves on the Boards of Directors for three not-for-profit organizations serving the Greater New York City area.

Cari holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an A.B. from Princeton University, magna cum laude.
