Gus Eyler is Director of the Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Branch. In his role, Mr. Eyler supervises criminal and civil litigation throughout the country to enforce consumer-protection statutes, including the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the Controlled Substances Act. He also oversees defense of the Food and Drug Administration when its actions are challenged in federal district court. Mr. Eyler previously served as a Counselor in the Office of the Attorney General and as a prosecutor in the Criminal Division’s Fraud Section and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland. Before joining the Department of Justice, he worked at an international law firm, as a Senate counsel, and as a law clerk. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Yale Law School.
