Stan DoreChief Risk Officer at Federal Home Loan Banks
Stan Dore was appointed Chief Risk Officer for the Federal Home Loan Banks – Office of Finance (OF) in June 2010. In this capacity he is responsible for risk oversight, direction and reporting, along with implementation and maintenance of the OF’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.
Mr. Dore chairs the OF’s Enterprise Risk Management Committee and is the lead executive working with the Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. He is also responsible for the OF’s Compliance and Business Continuity programs, and provides independent oversight of the Information Security and Physical Security functions. Prior to joining the Office of Finance, Mr. Dore was Chief Risk Officer and head of Enterprise Risk Management for the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid. Before joining the Department of Education, he spent several years as Senior Vice President & Risk Manager, for Riggs Bank, N.A. and Riggs National Corporation in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for various oversight, security, and control functions across the organization.
Mr. Dore also spent 15 years with Sallie Mae, Inc. in Reston, Virginia, where he held various audit and risk management positions, including: Assistant Vice President, Corporate Risk Management, and Assistant Vice President & Internal Auditor. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Mr. Dore has an MBA in Finance & Investments from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
