As CRO, have set-up industry best-practice-led robust Risk Management & Compliance Framework in two start-up/green-field Banks. Previously worked on a major project as Risk Strategy Head, responsible for leading change in Risk Management Framework and tasked to accomplish Basel compliance under Internal Ratings Based (IRB) Approach at a major financial institution. Having applied Basel framework in Credit Risk and Liquidity Risk with the introduction of LCR and NSFR ratios, roll-out of IFRS9 models for PD, LGD, EAD to determine EL based impairment.
During the course of long career have had experience of several upturns and downturns in the economy and financial sector. Have used concepts, practised Stress Testing and Rapid Portfolio Reviews as tools for Early Warning signals, Remedial management, Workouts and participated in major Restructuring.
Active member of CRO Community in Canada, GCC and India, to review and recommend regulatory environment changes on key risk factors in the current volatile financial and economic environment. Experienced liaison with regulators, industry peers, experts. Regularly invited at conferences, forums and seminars as industry speaker and panelists. Developed expertise in assessing risks associated with Blockchain and FinTech disruption in banking and Digitalization of financial services.
