Ian has developed a portfolio career combining various advisory, interim management and non-executive roles after almost 40 years in the retail banking industry.
A trained and qualified banker, Ian spent much of his career in risk management roles with large global banks including Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander and GE Money. Subsequently, Ian helped set-up a number of first wave challenger banks including Tesco Bank, Virgin Money and Charter Court Financial Services. More recently, Ian has worked in establishing and embedding risk management frameworks with major UK based Fintechs Monzo and Revolut.
Ian is a Chartered Banker and holds an MBA from Edinburgh and an MSc in Marketing from Napier University. Ian is a Fellow and former Vice President of the Institute of Bankers in Scotland and a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services.
