Profile
Michele is the Head of Corporate Treasury and Finance Risk at HSBC. He is responsible for shaping and leading the stewardship, assurance, advisory and other second line activities to help drive target outcomes across Capital, Recovery & Resolution Planning, Stress Testing, Forecasting and Financial Resource Planning.
Michele also holds an additional title as Global Head of Traded & Treasury Risk and Analytics Transformation – he is therefore accountable for design and delivery of the digitalization strategy and regulatory reform implementation for Traded Risk and Treasury Risk for the Bank.
Prior to his current roles, Michele worked in Asia where he led Risk management and analytics teams. Prior to HSBC, he worked at the Bank of England where he first worked in Supervision and then led the development and international policy negotiations of Basel packages for the UK.
He was raised in Italy and the Middle East and studied in the UK; he holds a PhD in Quantitative Finance.
