Chief Risk Officer Greater China at ABN AMRO

Dr. Michiel Haasbroek has over 12 years of experience in Financial Services with a clear focus on Asia, where he has lived and worked since 2012. He has held a number of positions in risk management, including a CRO role since 2015. In the past years, Michiel has helped to set up new locations of ABN AMRO in APAC and implemented AMA, ILAAP and ICAAP standards in these branches. He has a solid academic and professional interest in the Chinese banking sector and regulatory reform.

Michiel holds a PhD in Political Economy of China, an MA in Political Science and History, and an MSc. in Financial Management. In his spare time, Michiel is an avid reader and triathlete
