Profile
Hitoshi is the Head of Financial System Research Division at the Bank of Japan (BOJ). His Division is responsible for the macroprudential assessment of Japan's financial system. The Division also plays a key role in the horizontal simultaneous stress testing exercise jointly organised by the BOJ and FSA.
Prior to his current role, Hitoshi was the Head of International Division, the Division responsible for setting the Bank's strategy on the international financial and banking regulations. He also served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the IMF-LSE symposium on macrorprudential stress tests and policies.
Hitoshi joined the Bank of Japan in 1996. Between 2012 and 2014, he was a secondee at the Bank of England's Prudential Policy Directorate, where he focused on developing the Bank's liquidity policies.
