Jacqui ColwellCo-Founder & Chief Risk Officer at Judo Bank
Jacqui is a Co-Founder and CRO of Judo Bank. She is a career banker with 30+years’ experience in Risk, Distribution and Operations. Jacqui has diverse experience across a range of disciplines including Operational Risk, Credit Risk (both Business and Consumer), Retail Credit Portfolio management, Call Centre Operations, SME, Institutional and Retail Banking sales. Jacqui was CRO of National Australia Bank’s Retail Division from 2013.
In 2016 Jacqui joined with a number of colleagues to start a new Challenger Bank in Australia with a desire to build a bank from a PowerPoint. Jacqui is a member of the executive team and is responsible for the Risk, and legal and compliance functions at Judo. She established the Risk Framework for Judo Bank and was instrumental in Judo Bank acquiring its Banking licence in April 2019 to become Australia’s only dedicated SME Challenger Bank.
Jacqui has deep experience in credit risk both in business banking and consumer banking drawing on her experience as a Banker and as a senior credit executive. Jacqui has also held executive roles leading sales and distribution teams within the business banking division of NAB, which is Australia’s largest business bank.
Jacqui has an Economics degree and was previously a Board Director for the Australian Retail Credit Association. Jacqui is passionate about ethics, conduct and professionalism in Banking and Judo is currently the only Bank in Australia that has 100% of their team as signatories to the Banking and Finance Oath.
