Justin GreensteinHead of Risk and Operations at ANZ Banking Group
Justin is based in Melbourne, Australia and has worked at ANZ for nearly seven years. At present, Justin leads the Risk and Operations function of ANZi which is the Digital Innovation arm of the ANZ Banking Group. Justin’s main focus is integrating Risk and Innovation.
ANZi’s core focus areas include making strategic venture investments in emerging growth Digital companies, entering into strategic partnerships that support the Bank’s Digital transformation and incubating new Digital businesses. Justin’s core focus in his current role is using technology and data to achieve better risk and regulatory outcomes, and analytics to provide forward looking, automated assurance.
Prior to this role, Justin designed ANZ’s Culture Risk measurement and management program, which focused on measuring culture as a key non-financial risk in the organisation. This program integrates traditional non-financial risk governance with behavioural risk analysis. This human-centred approach to non-financial risk management involves deep engagement with decision makers in the business who work with customers and manage the risk and reputation of the organisation on a day-to-day basis.
Justin spent some time at the London School of Economics learning about “Risk in Organisations” which had a strong focus on the psychology of risk and risk leadership.
On a personal note, Justin is married with two children. Justin is also involved in the not-for-profit sector and enjoys contributing to help communal organisations thrive.
