Lewis O'Donald is an Advisor on Risk and Strategy, and has been active since July 2019. His areas of interest include Risk Strategy, Risk Culture, ESG Risks, Scenario Planning and Resilience, as well as Models and Capital Approaches.
Prior to becoming an Advisor he was the Chief Risk Officer of Nomura Holdings, appointed in January 2011. He was a member of Nomura's Executive Management Board and held directorships in several of Nomura's international entities. Before joining Nomura, Lewis worked at Morgan Stanley International across many roles from 1992 till 2010. He started in the Fixed Income division, working in derivatives and swaps trading, then running the European Fixed income options and exotics trading from 1999 to 2001, before moving to run Structured Credit Trading in Europe. Lewis moved into the market risk division at Morgan Stanley in 2004, in a variety of senior roles. In 2008 he was asked to become the Senior Risk Officer for Morgan Stanley globally, running in-Business risk management for the head of Sales and Trading. In March 2014 Lewis was made a trustee of GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals).
Lewis O'Donald holds a D. Phil. in mathematics from Oxford University, an MA in mathematics from Cambridge University and a B.Sc. in mathematics and physics from Bristol University.
