Maurizio Garro is Senior Lead on the IBOR transition of Lloyds Banking Group in products and models, including regulatory models. His background is in quantitative risk management, model risk, market risk, counterparty credit risk, pricing, liquidity and stress testing. He is a certified risk management executive with over 17 years of experience in overseeing the daily activities of financial institutions, large corporations, small businesses, and start-ups.
Garro directed the creation of risk management frameworks and achieved business optimization and growth strategy driven by a value-based approach for top financial institutions. He is an effective leader in seeking opportunities and aligning investors, boards, leadership, and management teams on incremental improvements and long-term plans to achieve success.
Maurizio is a member of the Internal Auditor Institute, a Member of the CefPro Advisory Board for non-financial risk, and GARP London Chapter Director. He mentors start-ups involved in developing AI/machine learning products.
Garro received his master’s in economics from the Bocconi University of Milano and was awarded FRM certification by GARP.
