Richard is responsible for a wide range of regulatory areas at the IIF, including market risk, credit risk, securitization, cryptoassets, derivatives reform, CCPs/clearing and foreign banking rules including IHCs. Richard also leads the work on the Basel III capital impact studies. Prior to joining the IIF, Richard was most recently with Westpac Banking Corporation, where he was head of the bank's Office of Regulatory Reform evaluating all international regulatory developments on behalf of Westpac. Richard had commenced his career as a corporate investigator at the securities and corporate regulator ASIC. He then moved into the banking sector and over a diverse 25 year career he held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, Societe Generale and AIDC. During his investment banking career he established business units and managed teams engaged in corporate and project finance, debt origination, infrastructure advisory, structured finance, capital markets, hedge funds and other specialized investment funds.
