Profile
Richard is responsible for a wide range of prudential regulatory areas at the IIF, including cryptoassets, market risk, credit risk, derivatives reform, CCPs/clearing and foreign banking rules including IHCs. Richard also leads the work on the evaluation of Basel III including the industry leading capital impact studies. Richard had commenced his career as a corporate investigator at the securities and corporate regulator ASIC. He then moved into the investment banking sector and over a diverse 25 year career he held senior origination and transaction arranging positions at Goldman Sachs, Societe Generale and AIDC. During his investment banking career he established business units and was the Head of senior teams engaged in debt origination, corporate and project finance, structured finance, infrastructure advisory, capital markets, hedge funds and other specialized investment funds. Richard then joined Westpac Banking Corporation, where he was head of the bank's Office of Regulatory Reform evaluating all international regulatory developments on behalf of the Westpac Group.
