Fenton Aylmerformer Chief Risk Officer at New York Community Bancorp. Inc.
Fenton Aylmer is a risk strategist who works with Boards and C-Suite
executives in the financial services industry to help them position their
firms within the fast-pace and evolving landscape. He focuses on
establishing safeguards against the interrelated and emerging risks
emanating from the confluence of finance and technology (FinTech).
Fenton has over 3 decades of experience as a Chief Risk Officer (CRO)
and senior risk executive in large regional and money center banks. As
such, he managed the implementation of all aspects of the risk function,
including processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure,
monitor, and report risk.
Fenton was most recently the CRO at New York Community Bank (NYCB).
Prior to joining NYCB, he led several risk functions at Citigroup, including
Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Reputational Risk, and Regulatory
Capital Risk. Before that, Fenton was a risk consultant at both EY and
KPMG. He kicked off his career in credit risk management at Bank of
Fenton is also the Treasurer of Lend a Hand Uganda-USA. He earned an
MBA From Trinity College, Dublin and a BA from Concordia University,
