HEC was founded in 1963 and incorporated in 1975 as an employee owned company. HEC provides naval architecture and marine engineering support services to shipowners, operators, charterers, shipyards, salvors, and government agencies. We have extensive experience in detailed structural design and analysis, mechanical system design and analysis, construction/repair inspection, cargo securing optimization, technical salvage and casualty support, and analysis in support of compliance with class, IMO, and flag/port state regulations like Ballast Water Treatment and Sulphur emissions compliance.

Our affiliated software company Herbert-ABS Software Solutions LLC is a joint venture with ABS Class. We develop and market both the CargoMax shipboard loading software, as well as the HECSALV casualty analysis software used worldwide by salvors, class societies, navies, and navel architectural & marine engineering firms.
