Head of New Business and Innovation at Siraj Power

Gorkem is the Head of New Business at Siraj Power, the leading distributed energy provider in Middle East. He has diversified Siraj Power’s financed solutions by setting up the hybrid and energy storage departments and leading the sales of the first contracts. He has originated HYPR – a JV formed with CAFU, providing on-demand solar energy service via mobile battery storage systems.

Prior to Siraj Power, he was an early member of a start-up, Enerwhere, where he held senior roles growing the organization. This is following his award-winning Master thesis project, where he built UAE’s first industrial-scale hybrid plant. Gorkem has led over 50 engineers implementing distributed energy projects including the world’s second-largest solar rooftop plant. He holds an MSc of EPFL (Switzerland) in Sustainability and Energy Management with a full scholarship.
