Gian Paolo Vescio serves as the General Counsel and Board Secretary of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) - Canada's national association representing original equipment suppliers to the worldwide automotive industry.

Gian Paolo is a sought-after voice on a wide range of prescient legal matters in the global automotive industry. Including the G7 of Automotive Global Suppliers, the Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on International Trade, and the Canadian Automotive Partnership Council, Investment Committee. He has been cited by leading publications including The Canadian Law Times, the Globe and Mail, Citytv and OMNI Television.

A trusted voice on an array of legal and regulatory matters Gian Paolo co-chairs the APMA’s Trade Committee where he assisted in negotiating the rules of origin definitions within the regulations of the new USMCA as well as advising on issues relating to emission regulations and zero-emission vehicle mandates.

Always looking to use his skills to advance change, Gian Paolo is the lead on all legal matters pertaining to the APMA’s lighthouse venture, Project Arrow an all-Canadian, zero-emissions, lightweight, concept vehicle to debut in 2022. The APMA’s Project Arrow was revealed at CES2020 in Las Vegas to international coverage and will serve as a premier showcase of Canada’s automotive technology cluster.

In addition to his work with the APMA he is the principal lawyer at Vescio Law Professional Corporation a law firm with a concentration on Business, Real Estate and Litigation matters. Gian Paolo manages a thriving practice with a wide-ranging clientele base.

Previous to Gian Paolo’s current position he was an Associate Lawyer at Mattis Law PC and, as an advisor to the Ontario Minister of Economic Development and Trade. Gian Paolo holds a B.A. (Hons) from York University in Political Science, a Law Degree with Honours from the University of Leicester and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015.
