Marko MaschekPartner & Co-Founder at Marondo Capital GmbH
Marko Maschek combines an engineering education with entrepreneurial thinking. He grew up in the Stuttgart area and was already a committed employee in the family-owned company during his school days.
After completing his military service, Marko Maschek studied electrical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. This was followed by post-graduate studies in information technology as a scholarship holder at the INSA engineering school in Lyon with a focus on signal, speech and image processing.
At Cambridge Consultants, Marko Maschek worked in consulting and at Robert Bosch in the development of algorithms and software. While working, he earned an MBA from Cambridge University. At Bosch he patented several developments in the field of restraint systems.
In 1997 Marko Maschek started as project manager at 3i Germany in Stuttgart with investments in small technology companies, four of which successfully went public.
From 2000, Marko Maschek was part of the team in Boston that initiated the US investment business for 3i. He became a partner in the USA in 2003 and was responsible for the semiconductor investment sector on the East Coast.
After 10 years as Partner & Co-Founder at a lower mid-cap PE fund in Munich, he built up Marondo Capital in 2017 together with 3 partners as one of the first private equity growth funds in Germany.
Marko Maschek reads technical and scientific literature, is interested in history and politics and, together with his wife and three children, enjoys mountain and ski sports.
