Disun Vera-Cruz is the Founder & CEO of RoundUp, a pioneering sports data company that fuses AI and blockchain to reinvent how leagues, clubs, and players connect with their fans. He is building the data and commercial rails powering the future of Africa’s digital sports economy.

A second-time founder previously backed by Google and Techstars, Disun brings deep experience in AI transformation, product innovation, and building data ecosystem across emerging markets.

Before starting his first enterprise, he worked at Control Risks, a global risk advisory firm, where he led EMEA consulting for Fortune 500 clients on market entry, investment due diligence, and geopolitical risk on multijurisdictional projects—including the U.S. government’s $2bn Power Africa initiative.

Earlier in his career, Disun held roles at GTBank and Standard Chartered Bank, where he built and implemented compliance and risk management frameworks. His work contributed to strengthening regulatory governance and operational integrity across high-risk environments.

Disun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and a Master’s degree in Development Economics, both from the University of Exeter, UK.
