Omar Farooqui is a Saudi global capital formation and private markets leader with over 27 years of experience in the asset management industry. Throughout his career, he has mobilized institutional capital, built investment platforms, and structured multi-billion-dollar transactions spanning growth equity, buyouts, venture capital, and strategic co-investments. His extensive relationships extend across global boards, family offices, financial institutions, and sovereign investors, with a consistent focus on delivering long-term, sustainable value creation. Prior to Sidra, Omar built and exited Coded Minds, an education company he founded that expanded to 15 countries. Prior to that, he established and managed a venture capital and advisory platform serving regional and global investors. From 2010 to 2015, he served on the MF Board and Real Estate Fund Board of BSF Capital, where he was also Global Advisor for its international business. His earlier roles include Director at Algebra Capital, a MENA asset manager later acquired by Franklin Templeton Investments, and Vice President at Deutsche Asset Management, where he helped establish Deutsche Bank’s asset management business in Saudi Arabia. Omar began his career in 1998 at NCB Investment Services (now SNB Capital), where he spent eight years as a product structurer and a fund manager.
