Edward Claessen, Acting Head of Division – Equity & Microfinance (EIB Global), European Investment Bank joined the EIB Group in 2003 in the Private Equity Funds team of the EIF where he was a Principal responsible for managing new investments and monitoring a portfolio of funds. In 2013 he moved to the EIB where he currently leads a team focused on PE/VC and Infrastructure and Climate fund investments and Microfinance.
Prior to joining the EIB Group he was managing director of UCP UK Ltd , a London-based wireless technology company. He started his career at Ballast Nedam International, in Qatar, as project engineer.
He holds a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) and obtained a Bilingual Master of Business Administration from IESE Business School (Barcelona, Spain).
