Christian Schmid is a Managing Director at Slate Asset Management, where he co-leads Slate’s Cities and Communities Impact Infrastructure Strategy. Through this strategy, Slate partners closely with cities, companies and technology providers and invests across the infrastructure spectrum in long-term clean energy and sustainability solutions for urban settings.
Christian has more than 19 years of experience in public and private infrastructure investments, having led the origination and execution of infrastructure transactions valued at approximately US$40 billion across Europe, North America and Australia. That expertise includes acting on the buy-side and sell-side of dozens of large transactions, with an emphasis on renewable energy investments and other essential infrastructure.
Prior to joining Slate, Christian was the Sector Lead for Utilities at Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC). He previously spent 13 years at RBC Capital Markets, where he was a Managing Director responsible for originating and executing infrastructure transactions across Europe and North America.
