David Finan
Partner, Member of the Investment Committee at EIV Capital


David Finan serves as a Partner of EIV and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. He is actively involved in firm strategy and is responsible for originating and stewarding investments across EIV’s areas of focus, including leading its efforts in renewable and carbon offset activities.

Mr. Finan began his career in energy finance and investments in 2001, spending the next six years working at JPMorgan and in Credit Suisse’s investment banking Natural Resources Group focusing on mergers, acquisitions and capital markets transactions. In 2006, he joined then recently formed GSO Capital Partners, a division of The Blackstone Group providing credit, equity and special situation capital across the energy value chain, as a member of the energy investment team. Mr. Finan’s energy sector focus at GSO included midstream, oilfield service and upstream sub-sectors, and he served as a senior associate and vice president. His responsibilities included negotiating and executing private investments, participating in syndicated offerings and monitoring ongoing investments within GSO and Blackstone’s credit and special situation-related hedge funds. Mr. Finan joined Quantum Energy Partners in 2009, most recently serving as a Director within its investment team. Quantum invests private equity capital in the energy industry across the energy value chain with a particular emphasis on the oil and gas upstream, midstream, oilfield service and power generation sectors. Mr. Finan actively participated in all of Quantum’s investment activities including portfolio company board participation and monitoring, investment due diligence and transaction structuring and execution. Mr. Finan received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Management Information Systems from Baylor University.

Mr. Finan also serves on the boards of the Houston Business Ethics Forum, Rising Stars and the William Flynn Center for Irish Studies.
