Steven Heanly

Senior Portfolio Manager, Head of Research Europe at Cross Ocean Partners

Steven Heanly is a senior portfolio manager and the head of research for Europe. Steven helped found the European special situations business at Capula Investment Management in September 2012, where he ran the ESS research team, before transferring across to Cross Ocean in July 2015. Prior to this, Steven was a managing director of Angelo, Gordon & Co, a New York based hedge fund which he joined in 2000. Steven established and ran the London office as head of the European special situations investment team focussed on European distressed debt and event-driven equity opportunities. Prior to this, Steven worked at UBK Asset Management (1997 to 2000) as a portfolio manager and formerly as a senior investment analyst. Prior to that, he worked at Nat West Markets in the global markets division. Steven was a chartered accountant at KPMG from 1989 to 1994.

Steven received a BA in Economics from the University of Manchester in 1989 and is a Chartered Accountant. Steven is based in Cross Ocean’s London office.
